Yes, it does depend on implementation and possibly on whether your
class loader is invoked with a parent. I have dealt with quite a few
class loader issues mainly with Servlets. Unless there is a more
compelling reason like security, I don't think that a custom class
loader is worth it.

By using the superclasses implementation of loadClass, which is
URLClassloader, wont my custom classloader only load classes that
havent
already been loaded by a parent?
