Rob (van der Horst), I can confirm that I am having the same problem. I have a problem with a third-party supplied package and was able to isloate the cause to the same Java exists() method. I ran the same Java program on a PC connecting to the IFS via a mapped drive and didn't get the same problem. I'm going to report this as a Java (or possibly an IFS) bug to IBM. Have you had any success in rectifying this problem?
