Any one have idea about Null pointer exception?

Murali Dhar <hydchap2@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:Hi ,

We experience issues with an utility "YEMAIL" from time to time which are
impacting delivery of reports to Clients .It appears to be an issue connecting
to the mail server and in looking at the program I have found that the program
is not handling a Null pointer exception correctly.
The method send() is catching a javax.mail.SendFailedException but is not
logging what the actual exception is.
I would like to add a line

System.out.println("Send Failed Exception = " + noSentEx)
How do I work out a solution to retry if the addresses are null ???
Am I on the right path? Please help me to address this problem!
How to handle Null Pointer exception?
It may be simple, I dont have much experience on Java, Iam connected to AS400.
Please try to help! Appreciate your early help!!!
Thank you,
Murali.
