Todd, Kerberos helps you identify a user and provide appropriate access. SSL helps ensure that the message a user sends arrives unmolested. With SSL you could pass passwords as part of an authentication scheme but you would have to have total control at both ends of the connection, which is difficult to ensure. Kerberos passes one-time tickets for access that can expire. This limits what you have to control. With Kerberos you would likely use SSL if your data is traveling over an unsecured network like the Internet. David Morris >>> tbryant@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 4/21/2004 9:50:55 AM >>> Thanks David. How does Kerberos differ from SSL?
