Ivan, it would be no problem for a java program on as400 to connect to ms sequel server on a windows box using a type 4 jdbc driver (you can get one from ms or third party vendors for a few dollars, depending on your sequel server version); the real problem would be the connect between the trigger program and the java program. I would definitely not recommend to do a synchronous rpg java call via JNI in a trigger program. The only approach I see, is to decouple the trigger and the java program, by sending an entry to a DTAQ or socket and having a java server programm listening to the DTAQ or socket and writing to the sequel server.
