The iSeries has something called a Journal which can be used to track changes to files. The journal can record all changes to all files that you point to it. This may be a bit much for you, however. Are you looking to do some audit trail type functions, or do you need to perform some other action based on a change? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris DeLashmutt Senior R&D Analyst LeasePlan USA 1165 Sanctuary Pkwy., Alpharetta, GA 30004 Phone: 678-202-8695 Fax: 678-921-4895 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Csaba Kabai <cskabai@xxxxxxxxxx To: JAVA400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx m> cc: Sent by: Subject: catch table changes java400-l-bounces@m idrange.com 03/25/2004 02:08 AM Please respond to Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Dear All, I'm searching the way to write a program which is track changes of the V4R5M0 AS400/DB2 tables , such as INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE and write these entries to a list (table). I think the database monitoring is a resource intensive solution and we don't want to create triggers for each effected tables. ;) It's possible to write a "service" which do the work? Thanks, Csaba Kabai _______________________________________________ This is the Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 (JAVA400-L) mailing list To post a message email: JAVA400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/java400-l or email: JAVA400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/java400-l.
