Chris This is not really a Java issue so any deep discussion should probably go somewhere else but it can be an issue with Java calling RPG. *caller helps but you still have to define a static number of chainable stubs using a C or CL program. I use that technique for triggers. You can also use *new/*caller but ideally, you would be able to activate a program into an activation group dynamically through the activate program api. David Morris >>> chris.delashmutt@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 3/19/2004 12:24:59 PM >>> Before reading this...please be gentle with me! I'm not an RPG or COBOL person, but I work with a lot of them and have to support their efforts to create stored procedures and other things. Can't you make a module first for the program that specifies *CALLER as the activiation group for the program? We've done this for much of the RPG code we use and it seems to work just fin for us. This is sort of an indirect way to control the activation group by forcing the RPG to use the activation group of the caller. Ok...let the flames begin! :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris DeLashmutt
