I have had this problems some years ago; 100% of my employes were skilled rpg 
programmers.

I didn't fire myself, I started to learn new technologies, first sql, than 
java, that's not related to the age of the programmer, I'm more than 50 years 
old. And I don't see any need to fire skilled programmer's. There would be 
more already existing rpg code than rpg programmers in the future, as long as 
ibm supports the as400.
