I think the answer is yes to your question. ( I know alot more about java
and linux then I know about the 400. )

path.getPath() == /QSYS.LIB/PGMRFILLIB.LIB/INCLOCK.DTAARA

Thanks... I will give this a try. Is "PGMRFILLIB" the library where the
data area exists?

I have read info from a DataArea...
not sure if it is Local or not.....

---------------------------------------

import com.ibm.as400.access.*;

public class dataArea
{
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
        {
                // Establish a connection to the AS/400
                AS400 system = new AS400( "<myipaddress>", "<myuser>",
"<mypass>" );

                // Create a CharacterDataArea object.
                QSYSObjectPathName path = new
QSYSObjectPathName("PGMRFILLIB", "INCLOCK", "DTAARA");

                System.out.println(path.getPath());

                CharacterDataArea dataArea = new CharacterDataArea(system,
path.getPath());

                // Read from the data area.
                String data = dataArea.read();

                System.out.println( data );
        }
}

Does anyone know how to retrieve your LocalDataArea? I am trying to
retrieve it through the LocalDataArea API provided with JT400Native.jar, but
I am not having any luck?

Thanks,

Chad
