I have just completed a housekeeing process that zips IFS directories that 
contain large volumes of historical documents.
It appears the iSeries comes with zip/unzip utilities. These can be run via 
Qshell which of course can be scripted or via native program calls to the 
Qshell API so there was no need to look elsewhere,

Is there someone using it to zip files on IFS?  How bad or good the
performance is.

I am having difficulty saving files on IFS can't save it.

[MST] All folders exits on IFS and file also exist on AS/400, I do have
authority to create documents in the folder and I can create documents in
the IFS Folder. Following is the command and log.  Any suggestion / help
appreciated
