You cannot directly fax a PDF. You may be able to find a Fax Server that can handle faxing a PDF, but it will have to convert it first. And that conversion may not be clean. The more times you have to convert things the worst it can end up looking. You CAN create a very nicely formatted report/spool file that looks as pretty as html. Most if not all Fax Servers connected to an iSeries handle the faxing of reports/spool files quite easily. I have done it. We use Fax*Star and it has been a great fax server for us. If you are truly set on the PDF format, you should email it. Since this question is really broader than just Java, you may want to ask it on the Midrange-L list. Like I said, you may be able to find a fax server that can directly handle PDFs, but I am not aware of one. Somebody on the Midrange-L list may know of one. -- Scott J. > > Hi > This is the requirement i have, i have to send a fax > in a nice format like the HTML page desing, so just > cannot create a report on AS400 and fax it, > so i was thinking of calling a java program from RPG > which will create the pdf file in the format i > want(use itext or FOP for it) > and then fax it > > Any better ideas > Ashish
