You cannot directly fax a PDF.  You may be able to find a Fax Server that can
handle faxing a PDF, but it will have to convert it first.  And that conversion
may not be clean.  The more times you have to convert things the worst it can
end up looking.

You CAN create a very nicely formatted report/spool file that looks as pretty as
html. Most if not all  Fax Servers connected to an iSeries handle the faxing of
reports/spool files quite easily.  I have done it. We use Fax*Star and it has
been a great fax server for us.

If you are truly set on the PDF format, you should email it.

Since this question is really broader than just Java, you may want to ask it on
the Midrange-L list.  Like I said, you may be able to find a fax server that can
directly handle PDFs, but I am not aware of one.  Somebody on the Midrange-L
list may know of one.
