Balazs,

I checked in a DataSource implementation to the iseries-toolkit CVS
repository. You can find CVS instructions on the CVS page at
www.iseriestoolkit.org. You should be able to connect to CVS from
Eclipse, WDSc, or ?. If you are not familiar with CVS I can point you to
some resources that explain how to set it up. The classes you are
interested in are in the org.iseriestoolkit.database package and are
AbstractConnectionManager, AS400ConnectionManager, ThreadLocalUser,
User, and Context. I would start out by building a test class that uses
the DataSource to get a Connection that opens, reads, writes to a file.

Hello David,

Thank you for your answer, it helped me to understand some basic
problems.
As a former RPG programmer I'm not very good in database connection and

similar issues, so there fore it would be a great help for me (and I
think
also for others) if you could send some code snipppets for
demonstration.

Best Regards

Balazs
