how to compile (javac) in 1.4 when 1.2 is installed using qsh?

Hi List

        Got a simple newby question.  Trying to compile (javac) a module which
needs jvm 1.4 to compile.  I seem to be stuck with the 1.2.2 version (1.2,
and 1.4 are both installed).  I am at V5R2.  How do I tell my qsh session
which version to use when I compile?

        I have searched the archives, which mention only java command not 
javac...

        Any help would be appreciated....
