That did indeed work. I also did a "JAVA CLASS(HelloWorld) CLASSPATH('/Java')" from the command line and that worked too. This is certainly a great list. Thanks for all the feedback! -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Joe Pluta Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2003 4:52 PM To: 'Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400' Subject: RE: Frustration!! > From: Steven Molinaro > > Well that didn't work either. Try the following. Enter this code as /Java/HelloWorld.java: public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!"); System.exit(0); } } Then do the following: QSH (when Qshell comes up) cd /Java javac HelloWorld.java export CLASSPATH=. java HelloWorld These steps WILL work. Be careful that you say "public class HelloWorld" and "public static void main(String[] args" - in fact, be sure that you type everything in EXACTLY as I have it above.
