Is it possible to use the property java.endorsed.dirs on
the iSeries? I accidentally ran a Java program with the
1.3 JDK and got an error that the SAX parser was not found.
Before I noticed that I was using the wrong JDK I tried
setting java.endorsed.dirs to point to where I have Xerces
installed. When it didn't fix the problem I added Xerces to
my class path and realized I was using the 1.3 JDK when it
worked.

After fixing the JDK issue, I retested and it looks like the
Xerces parser is not being used. It looks like it is using
Crimson. I am running this in Qshell with:
-Djava.endorsed.dirs=lib/endorsed. I have tried qualifying
this back to the root, which didn't help. There is no reference
to java.endorsed.dirs in the iSeries Java documentation but
an APAR SE08514 does mention it.

Thanks,

David Morris
