Debugging Java programs on the ISeries

I am looking at how to debug a executing java program on the Iseries.  We
are used to putting an executing job in debug using the strsrvjob command.
I want to be able to do the same with my Java programs.  All of the
documentation I have seen so far leads me to believe that I can only do this
by using the RUNJVA command with the *DEBUG option.  I want to be able to
run this as a shell script in QSH as a submitted job.  Has anyone had that
same issue ?
