We were not using JMS to the fullest extent, primarily we were just using it to drive Message Driven Beans. So we just used Orion's built it JMS support as the transport. I've heard people say that Orion's JMS support is not very robust (much like I've heard about Jboss). But I have heard from several people using different providers such as Sonic or MQ Series with Orion. I believe there are several tutorials on the web as to how to hook up different providers. -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of McCallion, Martin Sent: Friday, May 16, 2003 5:02 AM To: 'Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400' Subject: RE: Application servers, other than WebSphere Tim Kosacek wrote: > I've been running Orion very successfully for a few years now. Tim, thanks for responding. I was hoping for a few more anecdotes, but it looks like you're the only one ;-) Just a small further question, if you don't mind. When using JMS in Orion on the iSeries, were you using MQSeries for the underlying transport? And if so, what was the transaction status (ie were you using MQSeries as the transaction manager)? I ask because we've had problems using that combination with JBoss as the appserver.
