It doesn't have to be Xerces. It could be Crimson, XML4J or any other 
JAXP parser. I would look in your ext directories. You might start
Qshell 
and change to QIBM/ProdData/java400 and run: find -d ext

Good thought. But a find shows no other copies of Xerces on the AS/400.
And
the Java log in verbose mode shows that we are loading the right copy
of the
Xerces jar file.
