stored procedure and query taking lot of time when called from java

Hi,

I have some stored procedures in SQLRPG which i call
from java using AS400JDBCConnection,
The problem i am facing is that when i call the store
procedure for first tie it takes lot of time to return
the connection, and then for next calls it is fast.
So how do I find out why it is taking time for first
time, and how do i work around to make it fast
I am using V5R1 and JTopen 3.1
I am using AS400JDBCConnectionPool for connection
pooling
