Kristen, My situation is similar to yours. I have not located the midrange-l or java400-l equivalent for the mainframe, but I have found some things on the web. Try the search engines, IBM web sites and Redbooks. Also try posting/searching the places where "regular" java programmers frequent. Let me know if you find anything.
