Hmm. Thought the idea was to turn debugging ON. At any rate, I'd initially

understood the description of the "setDebug" method in the docs as meaning
that 
it was essentially useless; on re-reading it, I now realize what I'd
initially 
misunderstood: that it was only useless for setting it BEFORE
instantiation.

I'll give it another look. And I do so much typing that
unnecessarily verbose 
coding wouldn't make a whole lot of difference.
