It's about the only good thing that's unique to RPG, and if I'm not mistaken, almost everything original I've ever written in RPG uses "The Cycle" for SOMETHING (usually cyclical user interaction, since I rarely access database files from RPG). If I'm not writing a "cycle program," and some other language (e.g., Java, C, MI, CL, PL/I, BASIC, QBASIC, FORTRAN, Pascal, even COBOL) can do what's required to solve the problem at hand, then I use another language. -- J.Lampert
