We seem to definitely have a problem with the new OS 400 V5R1 regarding the running of java progs... ...using the java toolkit the creation of the AS400 java object (integral to all functionality) whether default (the localhost, *CURRENT for both user and password) or explicit (host, userid, password) all seem to end in failure when any functionality is run eg/ executing a CL cmd...if the same test code is run remotely (NT/Win98 to AS400) all is as expected...when the same code is run on the AS400 via QShell or RUNJVA cmd, a security failure occurs...namely com.ibm.as400.access.AS400SecurityException: Password is not set. Now this points squarely at QSH env for the user, permission issue or a java QShell issue ...due diligence has been attempted to remove all obvious errors...recompilation of code, etc...of course the same code worked happily in V4R5 a few weeks back This communication is for informational purposes only.
