Place your killconnection() method call in the stop() method of the applet.
That should do it.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Browser close does not close connection
Date: Mon, 25 Nov 2002 13:23:40 -0600

I have an applet that runs within the browser. It makes AS/400 calls to
databases using servlets. The connection to AS/400 is kept open until user
logs out of the applet. There is a killconnection() method that gets fired
and this closes the connection and gets out smoothly. This all works fine
but when user closes the browser (i.e. clicks on the 'X' of the browser),
the connection is still open since the killconnection() method does not get
fired. Is there any way I could recognize the browser close or restrict
user from closing the browser without logging out of the applet?

Thanks in advance,
Sudha
