Hmmm .... why does

            Calendar c = new GregorianCalendar(2002, 08, 31);
            c.add(Calendar.DATE, 1);

give me

            the calendar c how has a date of 2002/10/02

Am I doing this wrong?  I want something smart enough to consider the
current month/day.
