Jon, JDBC drivers are usually specific to a particular database. I don't know if they have to follow a specific pattern. I use three databases regularly, mySql with mm.mysql, DB2/400 with the jtopen driver, and Oracle with their thin or OCI driver. To get to SQL server we had to buy a driver but I have not had a need to use it. You should be able to save the driver info with the database information in dbVisualizer so you only have to look it up once. Hit the EyeBall at the top of the screen and select the com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver. Thanks David - is there no universal naming convention for the JDBC drivers? I want to load the PC oriented ones as well as the 400 stuff - or will the 400 one do the job anyway? Jon Paris Partner400
