I think it's browser's fault. Has happened to me under the similar circumstances, developing servlet for conversion into PDF using HttpServletResponse.getOutputStream(). Worked fine on my IE6.0/Win98 and called servlet twice on IE5.5/Win95. No string ".pdf" in input parms. Solution: uncless you can afford to by Microsoft and make them correct it, switching from GET to POST when invoking a servlet does a job. There can be another reason. If you use the Java script to submit a request, there may be a situation where form is submitted twice, once from script, the other time from action attribute on the form itself.
