Hi Chris.

Yes there MANY options to link 2 jvms as listed
earlier:

serialized objects
jsps, servlets
sockets
URL connections using a protocol like HTTP
RMI / EJB
database ( use tables as shared message queues )
JDBC stored procedures
and, of course, the expensive option (MQ)

Is it inefficient to use sockets or RMI IF the jvms
are on the SAME iSeries???

It IS efficient because internally TCP support opens
pipes between the applications, not true TCP socket
connections ...
