Hi

You can make your system default to your time zone
by adding the following line:

user.timezone=EST

to the following file:

/qibm/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties

If the file does not exist, create it and edit by issuing
the following OS400 command from the Command Entry display:

EDTF '/qibm/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties'

running java apps on AS/400 V4R5M0 JDK1.3 the time is an hour before !!!
The system time is correct and the system value QUTCOFFSET is set correct (+1);

How to have the correct time on java apps ?
Is there a Locale to set ? If yes where ?
