We use XSL to transform messages when necessary. It really works fine and fast. This server runs on an AS400. We had no problem with Xalan and Xerces. The routine must run on AS400, NT, Unix. It uses xalan to do the transformation from xml to delimited format. The AS400 is at V5R1, it has JDK 1.3, it has xalan101.jar and xerces103.jar in directory ibm/ProdData/OS400/xml/lib/xalan101.jar. It also has x4j400.jar and xslparser.jar in directory /qibm/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib. Some of the licensed programs on the AS400 are: 5769AS1 *INSTALLED IBM WebSphere Application Server 5722DG1 *COMPATIBLE IBM HTTP Server 5722JC1 *COMPATIBLE Toolbox for Java 5722JV1 *COMPATIBLE Developer Kit for Java 5722JV1 *COMPATIBLE Java Developer Kit 1.3 5722WDS *COMPATIBLE WebSphere Development ToolSet 5722WDS *COMPATIBLE Tools - Application Development Q1) Are the .jar files mentioned above part of websphere? Q2) Which is the latest set and is there a more recent set I could install? Q3) The xalan classes in xalan101.jar seem to be named differently to the xalan classes on the PC e.g. XSLTProcessor, XSLTProcessorFactory, XSLTResultFactory. Is the jaxp package available on the AS400? With this I am hoping to make the code platform independent. Q4) Can anyone relate their experiences on using xalan and xerces on the AS400?
