Patrick, I searched on the Web on the Exception and this is what I found. http://www-4.ibm.com/software/webservers/appserv/doc/v35/ae/infocenter/was/0 40204020103.html Now, I don't know the setup of the pool or the driver, so, can't figure out if the problem was pool related or JDBC related. Could you ping the AS/400 from the machine where you are doing the call? Could you get a straight JDBC Connection (Driver.getConnection()) to the AS/400 via the toolbox non-native JDBC driver you mentioned below?
