Signing Applets

All,

Does anyone know of a good FAQ on signing applets? I've looked at the
information on Sun's & Verisigns websites, but I'm just getting more
confused by the process.

Also has anyone compared Certification Authorities? Does everyone use
Verisign, or is it better to use a local one, as they should be able to
verify corporate identities easily? Are there any UK based CA's?
