What is shown in the browser is not always the best place to understand
what the root problem is. Look at the stdout/stderr of the application
server (file is specified on the app server's general tab), there is
usually more specific information there.

Subject: RE: JSP Compilation with WAS 3.5

Make sure the JSP file has the appropriate authorization rights on the
AS400.

It is described in the redbook. You must have QEJBSRV authorized to all
objects.

If it is not the case you will have "strange" problems with the JSPs. We
have spend
a lot of time on problems with JSP that were only de to these access rights
(especially
because the rights were lost at the deployment time).

Another source of problem can be a bad jsp compiled file.
When the JSP files are compiled, the compiled files are stored in a temp
directory. (in your
application directory in the IFS).
You can stop WAS, delete the JSP compilation files and restart WAS.

Actually the code works fine when we run from our localhost on the
websphere test environment. we have this only after we put it on the
websphere on the AS400.
TIA.
Have a great day!
