What Websphere calls user profiles is not anything like an iSeries user
profile - for example the WebSphere kind is not used for authentication.
Instead it is used to build personalization data about a user (name, addr,
etc.) and placed in a db you configure.  That way he does not have to
re-type all this information on every purchase, for example.  There are
sample uses of Websphere userprofiles in the documentation for getting
started.
