Put this code just before the code that does the sorting: frame.setCursor(new Cursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR)); and this code just after it: SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { frame.setCursor(new Cursor(Cursor.DEFAULT_CURSOR)); } }); PC2 -----Original Message----- From: Price, Chris [mailto:chris_price@nsb.co.uk] Sent: August 3, 2001 05:52 To: 'java400-l@midrange.com' Subject: Where's my Hourglass? Sorry, another stoopid question.... I've extracted some AS400 data into a TableModel, loaded it into a TableSorter (stolen from the Java Tutorial) and then into a JTable. So when I click a column header, the table is sorted based on that column. All works fine. However, as the table is quite large, the sort takes a couple of second to complete, so I'd like to set the Cursor to an Hourglass. Although the JTable has a setCursor method, setting this to WAIT_CURSOR doesn't affect the screen cursor. Any suggestions for solving this problem?
