All, Thanks for your help. "Relaxing" the security rules has got me going again for now - fortunately I'm only producing a prototype, so "bad" security isn't a problem. I agree that for production use it would be better to use something like a Servlet on the host. However we can't yet get WAS up and running, so I'm avoiding that problem for now.
