take a look on sourceforge.net in the Java code snippets section.  I remember seeing something exactly like that there.

although this would return "a", "b", "", "c" from your example below...

But I believe there are others...

Could you let us know if there is a class similar to StringTokenizer

StringTokenizer  stk1 = new StringTokenizer ("a@b@@c", "@");

We have 3 elements with values "a", "b", and "c"

We are looking for a class which returns 4 elements with the values "a",
"b", null, and "c".
