The Toolbox uses sockets support built into Java to get to the servers so
it does not support a "use SNA" property. At one time there were some
products to map between the two (send IP over SNA or send SNA over IP) but
I don't know if they are supported any more.

Does this mean I can not connect to AS400 from NT using SNA because Toolbox
for Java JDBC driver only uses TCP/IP and does not support SNA?
Although I still can use two AS400s one serves as web server and another
one
as data server. If I can secure the data server using Developer Kit JDBC
driver plus SNA connection it may worth buying 2 AS400s. Considering
another
approach
Use an NT as web server, use another NT as a data replication server (this
NT and AS400 sit behind the firewall). A replication software (such as
SYMBIATOR) may still cost me $10,000.
