PTF:64740 at V4R4 and PTF SF64741 at V4R5 should correct this. Below is the summary of the PMR: The customer has a CL program that uses the QSH CL command to run a Qshell command. The CL program needs to know the result of the Qshell command but the QSH0005, QSH0006, and QSH0007 completion messages sent by the QSH CL command cannot be received with RCVMSG. Also, there is no way for the CL program to use MONMSG to handle an error condition with the Qshell command since the QSH CL command sends completion messages instead of escape messages. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: When the QSH CL command sent the completion messages, they were sent to an inactive call stack entry so they could not be received by the calling CL program. The QSH CL command was updated to send the completion messages to an active call stack entry. In addition, the QSH CL command now supports sending the messages as escape messages so they can be handled with MONMSG. You can control the type of message that is sent by setting the environment variable QIBM_QSH_CMD_ESCAPE_MSG. When the value of the environment variable is "Y", the QSH0006 and QSH0007 messages are always sent as escape messages and the QSH0005 message is sent as an escape message if the exit status is greater than zero.
