Dave,
I did that. In fact, the program I am running now is initial run on NT. So the Class.forName() and connection method are already pointed to Toolbox JDBC driver. It must be something else was wrong.

I addition to putting jt400.jar in the classpath you have to tell the JDBC
driver manager to route requests to the Toolbox JDBC driver. You do that
by 'for-naming' the Toolbox driver and altering the connection URL
slightly. The two lines of code are:
Class.forName("com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver");
connection = DriverManager.getConnection
("jdbc:as400://myAS400;property1=value;property2=value", "userid", "pwd");

Subject: AS400 Toolbox for Java JDBC driver
I can run a Java program on AS400 by using native DB2 JDBC driver. I would
like to do some comparisons by using the toolbox JDBC driver. How should I
do this? I had tried to add jt400.jar in AS400 classpath, added jt400.jar
into /QIBM/userdata/Java400/ext/. It doesn't work.
