  • Subject: Java to 400 messaging?
  • From: David Gibbs <dgibbs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Folks:

I'm curious as to how you're handling Java to 400 status messaging?

I need to communicate the results of a Java program to a CL program. This
status consists of an error code, severity, and some optional text (very
much like a normal AS400 message).

The problem is, I'd like to make my solution as platform independent as
possible ... so I can't use the Java Toolkit.

My initial idea was to write a file containing the status in my Java
program, and have the CL program read the file and respond as necessary.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

david
