Error Messages in qsysopr and Java -- JAVA400-L

I am currently working on a program call from a Java app to a CL program
which calls a RPG program.  All the calls work for me, but I need to
know if there is a way to display a qsysopr message caused by the 400
side of things to the horrified user.  Currently if an error occurs the
java app just sits and waits without any sign of error.  Any help here
would be great, and thanks in advance.
