If you're using a PC as your AS/400 terminal and you're using 5250 emulation, your emulator likely has a keyboard customizer. With Client Access for example, you can click the Assist / Keyboard Setup menu items, and then click the Customize button to bring up a program that allows you to customize the keyboard. Click on a key to customize the character sent for it. In testing the use of the brackets in SEU, I found that it doesn't work if you assign the bracket to the Ctrl or Alt mode. It works if you assign it to the Base or Shift states.
