Databaser's, I have now been trying to locate the cause of this error for two days. On an AS/400 that I recently set up, I get the following message: java.sql.SQLException: The application requester cannot establish the connection. I only get this error with the toolkit driver com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver, not with the standard DB2 driver com.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver. I have the database host server started, and the *LOCAL database entry set up. This works from fine from a PC or anything attached to the AS/400, but will not run directly on this AS/400. I use the following with a bonafide profile and password (it does work from another computer): Class.forName("com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver").newInstance(); con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:as400://gobuggy", "PROFILE", "PASSWORD"); Thanks, David Morris +--- | This is the JAVA/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to JAVA400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to JAVA400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to JAVA400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: joe@zappie.net +---
