I think this is a good thing. Netscape amd Microsoft have been getting beat up for years on the fact that the JVM was married to the browser. Now you use a plugin which makes it easy to upgrade the JVM without having to buy the browser to do it. Sun has a plugin for IE, so I don't see the big deal.
