What happens when and I.S. manager decides to discontinue all support for an AS/400 and move too Oracle or NT/2000. Unfortunately RPG cant port to those systems. The greatest asset to a programmer is to learn and become proficient in as many languages as possible today. I personally like Java because I have the upper hand in the hardware wars. I also think the AS/400 is far superior then any other computer on the market, but I may not be programming on AS/400 tomorrow. The kind of code that does it's job, and keeps chugging for a long time. So maybe it's not flashy by today's standards... it's a real good language. Nick "James H. H. Other than that, I can think of quite a few things other than "report program generator" for the letters RPG to stand for, none of them complimentary. -- James H. H.
