We have established a DTD and a single servlet that allow us to have any Web application pass an XML message that requests execution of any stored procedure (e.g. RPG program) , passing input parameters and getting a status code and usually a result set back, and formatting and returning a reply XML message. This just uses the version of XML4J that comes with WebSphere App Server 3.0.2, and it wasn't complicated to do at all. Be encouraged! We're useing xml fairly extensivly here for various things. So far, the best api we have found is the JDOM api. You can get the specs at www.jdom.org. --- Kris Kottapali <kris.kottapali@Arch.com> wrote: > > any one using xml or soap ? > > Kris Kottapali > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Bruce Jin [mailto:brucej@MRC-PRODUCTIVITY.COM] > Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 9:13 AM > To: JAVA400-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: AS400 services ? > > > Usually the following two things are needed to > access db2 from a PC using > ToolBox > > 1.
