I understood what you meant. The only discernable problem with the scenario you provide is that RPG does not, to my knowledge, have a publicly available parser. We have been looking into writing one ourselves, but unfortunately RPG does not lend itself to this technology very well. Hopefully IBM will get on the ball here before too long and provide a parser for RPG. There is a another solution, since you do use java, you could have java parse that XML and convert to to a formate that RPG does find easy to use such as tables or whatever. If any one does no of an available XML parser for RPG, please post it back to this list.
