Surprise.  I'm working with Java.  :)

Here's a question.  i'm looking at some code and it has this:

if (field1 == null) {
  field2=null;
} 
else
  field2=field1;
-----------------------

Isn't this the same as
-----------------
field2=field1
-----------------

I mean, why check for null and then set the value to null if the other field
is null?  Just wondering.. this seems odd.
