R: Help: crtjvapgm running >7 hours ?!

Just for statistics:

It takes 52' on my old S20 2165, with  768mb and 60gb disk-85% in use:
curiously, while QPFRADJ is set to 3(autoadj), CPU usage doesn't exceed
48-50% during the run.
